StoneHouse Academy

StoneHouse Academy is a primary school dedicated to giving quality education to children living in the Ponda Mali area of Nakuru. Ponda Mali is an extremely impoverished area of West Nakuru. The average income of a family with two parents and multiple children living in Ponda Mali is about two to four dollars a day, and that’s for the ones considered well off.

Single parents usually make considerably less. Although the temptation to offer free tuition is strong, the terrible precedent it sets for parents can be devastating.

StoneHouse Academy allows parents who cannot fully pay their children’s tuition to barter tuition payments with either services or food. It is our belief that every family must help us with the responsibility of their children’s education.

Our newly formed PTA (Parent Teacher Alliance) allows us to help participating Kenyan parents to assist their children in learning at home and offers seminars on how to raise happy, healthy children.
